Purchasing a ProfitCents® Subscription
Whenever you purchase a ProfitCents® subscription, you are asked for certain personally identifiable information, including your name, company name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. We do not share your contact information with outside companies for their promotional use. If we have trouble processing your order, we use the information to contact you. We may use the contact information provided to notify you about upcoming enhancements to Sageworks and about special offers. On rare occasions, it may be necessary to send out strictly service-related announcements as well.
Running ProfitCents® Reports
Sageworks collects the data and other information that you input to run ProfitCents® reports. The saved data and other information are segregated so personally identifiable information (i.e., information that identifies a particular client/customer or other individual) is kept separate from the report data, i.e. the sensitive financial and company information in a report is not directly associated with a specific individual or company.
Why do we save your data or other information? We store and aggregate your report data so we can build and continually improve our industry benchmark database. Our goal is to provide you with the very best and most up-to-date industry benchmarks, which will, in turn, give you better and more accurate analyses. We will never publish or sell personally identifiable information without your express permission, and we agree to maintain the confidentiality of your information. However, Sageworks reserves the right to and does create, publish and sell/license industry information, financial models, and other research based upon data and other information that you enter into this Site or other Sageworks' systems. Company data provided by users will be rendered unidentifiable prior to such use. We may also use your report data to publish indexes and/or other reports that provide insight into private sector financial health. Do not enter data into our systems or use our applications if you do not want your data and other information being used in this manner or contributed to our database, financial models, or future product development efforts.

Safeguarding Customer Information
The following information outlines the measures taken by Sageworks, Inc. to safeguard customer information.
- Anonymity: The first measure of safeguarding the confidentiality and security of confidential customer data is not requiring a client name in the input area of any of our programs. Sageworks does not require a client name to be entered to generate an analysis. We also recommend in our training sessions that a "code name" be used when submitting data for analysis.
- Security: Sageworks employs industry-recognized security measures to help protect the personally identifiable information that has been provided to us from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access or alteration. Secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information entered through our web interface and is designed to prevent such information from being read as it travels over the Internet. Therefore, all of the business and financial data that is entered into the Sageworks system through this site is encrypted through the industry standard SSL.
In addition to SSL security, a VeriSign Security Certificate is applied on our site's servers to protect the confidentiality of your information. VeriSign, Inc. Sageworks further protects personally identifiable information stored on our servers by using industry standard computer security products, such as firewalls, as well as carefully developed security procedures and practices.
- Control of customer data: Users of Sageworks have full control of all the data that is submitted for analysis. If users would like to delete a data set at any time for security reasons or any other reasons, they may do so through a web account.
Sageworks, Inc. commits to maintaining the above measures and to working with our customers with monitoring programs and any modifications that Sageworks determines are necessary to address any data security concerns.
Information We Collect
As the leader in the financial analysis of privately-held companies, Sageworks collects financial and other client information entered or extracted through your use of our Products. We also collect personal information such as your name, shipping/billing address, e-mail, phone, and credit card number when you interact with us for sales, service, support, renewal, and payment. We may collect and store sensitive information such as account and purchase information on your behalf as part of the services provided to you. We collect personal information to deliver or allow access to our Products. We collect information about your system as it interacts with us such as your IP address and browser information. We may obtain additional information about you, such as demographic information, from commercially available sources.

Certain reports made available by Sageworks are based on aggregate statistics for industry groups, but Sageworks does not use company-identifiable data. Sageworks aggregates and stores your data so that we can continually build and improve our industry benchmark database. Our goal is to provide you with the very best and most up-to-date industry benchmarks, which will, in turn, give you better and more accurate analyses. We will never publish or sell personally identifiable information without your express permission, and we agree to maintain the confidentiality of your information. Sageworks does reserve the right to freely use, sell/license, distribute and otherwise exploit all data provided by you from which Sageworks has removed personally identifiable information. Do not enter data or other information that you do not want used in this manner or contributed to Sageworks’ database, financial models, or future product development efforts.
In addition, Sageworks uses your personal or financial information to provide you with information and services you request, to tell you about other products and services, and to give you a customized interactive experience as you use our products. We also use the information for support, to develop new features and products, and to improve the overall quality of our products and services.
