Who We Are

Sageworks was founded on a few key principles that still infuse the way we do business, our interactions with all of our clients, and the culture of the Sageworks environment.

We create real value for clients and the financial community. We care about our clients’ success and strive to help them make better, more informed financial decisions. We believe that businesses fail, at least partially, because they cannot always understand the complex financial information they possess. We started the company to help people understand financial data so that they will succeed more often, and this goal directs every decision we make.

We are truly here to serve people. Many companies say this, but we mean it: it is the core of who we are as a group of people. Sageworks’ technology and, more importantly, the accompanying client service experience are designed to be customer-focused. We constantly solicit feedback from customers and then act on that feedback to improve the products and our interactions. Call our support line, and you will see this in action.

We value substance over form. Sageworks’ employees are not judged by what we wear, the school we attended, or the professionalism in our slideshow presentations (in fact, we discourage formal business school-type presentations when we even think about them). Instead, Sageworks focuses on the results we are able to achieve because it is these results that drive and improve our clients’ experience. Our focus on substance enables Sageworks to have a casual but intense work environment where people can speak freely with one another.

The person with the best idea or information wins. Our goal is to have as little management as possible because we think it is more important for Sageworks’ employees to be focused on results for our clients than reports for our "managers." In fact, our ideal construct is a company with no management at all. That is the frame from which we look at any structure: how little management does this particular project or effort require? At Sageworks, the person with the best idea—not the highest ranking title—wins. We give employees latitude for decision-making, and with that latitude, we expect them to take ownership of their projects to ensure we keep moving forward.

We invest in our employees. Because of Sageworks’ size and growth rate, we give employees the opportunity to meet their financial and professional goals and do so while working with great people. Employees are given opportunities that often exceed the qualifications they have on paper. Many of our former employees have gone on to start their own businesses or become leaders in other companies.
