Whitney Bower is a Partner with 3i Group and is responsible for founding 3i US Growth Capital. Prior to joining 3i, Mr. Bower held senior positions with Bain Capital and Geocapital Partners, leading investments in the technology, communications, and business services industries. He began his career in private equity at TA Associates. Over his investing career, Mr. Bower has led investments in a number of American and European companies, including Homestore, Qarana, Geneva, Astracon, m-Qube, Stepstone, Locus, NextGenTel, Axiom, and Tennis Channel.

In addition to his private equity experience, Mr. Bower has held a variety of operating positions, including Director of Marketing with Open Market, a successful startup software company, and Manager of Strategy and Business Development with The Times Mirror Company, a Fortune 500 company.

Mr. Bower received his A.B. in Economics from Harvard College and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He has served as a U.S. Peace Corp Volunteer and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
